Well, well, well, lookie here! You wanna know about famous people from Minneapolis, huh? That big city up there in Minnesota. I heard of it, got some famous folks, that’s for sure. Lots of big shots, singers and all sorts, came from that place.
Singers and Music Folks
First one that comes to mind, that Prince fella. Yeah, that’s his name, Prince. He was a big deal, that one. All them songs and movies. Heard he was from Minneapolis. Died a few years back, too young if you ask me. But he sure did make a name for himself, that Prince. Made Minneapolis famous, I reckon.
Then there’s that Bob Dylan. Heard he was from around there too. Sings them folk songs, kinda raspy voice. He’s been around forever, that one. My neighbor used to play his records all the time. Drove me nuts, but hey, he was famous, so what do I know?
Also heard there was another fella, Adam Young, or something like that, from a little place called Owatonna. It’s close enough, I guess. He sings them poppy songs. I don’t know him, but young folks seem to like him.
Movie Stars and Such
They got them movie stars too, up in Minneapolis. Heard there was this Jessica Biel gal. She’s a pretty one, been in a bunch of movies. I seen her on the TV. Don’t remember what movies, but she’s famous, alright. And that Chris Pratt fella, he’s a big shot now. In them space movies. He’s from around there too, I believe.
Then you got Yara Shahidi. That’s a name I just heard recently. She’s young, but they say she’s gonna be big. She’s an actress too. They got lots of them actors in Minneapolis, seems like.
- Jessica Biel, she’s a pretty one.
- Chris Pratt, that space movie guy.
- Josh Hartnett, yeah, he’s another one.
- Jessica Lange, saw her in a picture once.
- And that Noah Schnacky. They say he’s a singer and an actor.
Other Big Shots
They got more than just singers and actors, you know. That Charles Schulz, he made them cartoons. You know, the one with the little dog. Snoopy, that’s it! He was from Minneapolis. Imagine that, making them cartoons that everyone loves.
Then there’s them Coen brothers. They make movies too, but different kinds. Not the ones I like to watch, but they’re famous, I hear. Won some awards and all that. Smart fellas, I guess. Must be something in the water up there in Minneapolis.
Heard of a baseball player too, Roger Maris. Hit a bunch of home runs, back in the day. My husband used to talk about him all the time. Big baseball fan, he was. So yeah, Minneapolis has some sports stars too.

Lots of Famous Folks
Seems like Minneapolis is just full of famous people. Singers, actors, cartoon makers, baseball players. You name it, they got it. Must be a good place to grow up if you wanna be famous, I reckon. A fella named Craig Kilborn, heard he was a TV host or something. And an Amy Adams, she’s another actress, I think. She’s a big name.
And this Richard Dean Anderson, they called him MacGyver. He could make anything outta nothing, that fella. Heard he was from around there. F. Scott Fitzgerald, they say he wrote some books. Important ones. I ain’t read them, but I hear he was a big deal too. Also heard that a singer, Leo Kottke, was from there. Seems like there was a lot of famous people in Minnesota.
So there you have it. A whole bunch of famous people from Minneapolis. More than I thought, that’s for sure. Just goes to show, you never know where the next big star is gonna come from. Could be right around the corner, even in a place like Minneapolis.
