You know what I heard the other day? Some of them bands names after states. Ain’t that somethin’? Makes you think, don’t it? I mean, who’d have thunk it?

Bands Names After States
There’s this one band, called themselves Alabama. Heard ’em on the radio once. Sounded alright, I guess. They been around for a while, I reckon. Lots of folks like ’em. They sing about all sorts of things, love and life and such.
- Alabama, that’s one.
- Then there’s Arizona.
- Never heard of ’em, but there it is. Arizona.
And get this, there’s one called Texas. Now, Texas, that’s a big state. Lots of room out there. I bet they got all kinds of music in Texas. This band, they call themselves Goodnight, Texas. They say it’s after some town. And that town is the middle point between where two fellas lived, you know, those fellas wrote the songs. They call it folk rock. Never heard of that before.
Now, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout a band called Boston. They say they’re real popular. Been around for ages, sellin’ millions of them records. I don’t know much about ’em, but folks sure do seem to like their music. They got that one song, you know, the one everyone knows. They are real famous. Everyone knows them, I think.
More Bands And Their Names
Then there is this one called Kansas. I heard it on the radio. I don’t know what it means. But it sounds good. Another one called “Carry on”. I don’t know what they want to carry. But, that’s what they said.
And, there’s these fellas, call themselves New York Dolls. New York is a state, right? They say they started somethin’ called punk rock. I ain’t never heard nothin’ like it. They say they’re all wild and crazy. Dress up all funny, too. I guess young folks like that stuff.
Why they name themselves after states? Well, I don’t rightly know. Maybe they’re from there. Maybe they just like the sound of it. Could be anything, I reckon. I guess they want to show they love where they are from. Or they think those names sound cool. Who knows?

- Maybe they from there.
- Maybe they just like the name.
- Maybe it just sounds good.
Now, there’s probably a whole bunch more of these bands. I can’t keep track of ’em all. But it’s somethin’, ain’t it? Bands names after states. Who’d have thought? It’s like they’re yellin’ out where they’re from for everyone to hear. Like, “Hey, we’re from here! Listen to our music!” I guess that’s alright.
Even More Bands Named After Places
Seems like every state got some band shoutin’ its name out loud. Some are famous, real famous. Some, you never heard of. But they’re out there, playin’ their music, singin’ their songs. They sing about all sorts of things. Love and heartbreak and all that. This world is strange. But I guess that’s just how it is.
I heard, a long time ago, about the Eagles. I think it’s a bird. But they sold many many records. Many people like them. They have been singing for many years. Maybe fifty years. I don’t know why they are so popular. But they are.
It’s a strange world, that’s for sure. But I guess there’s room for all kinds of music. And all kinds of bands. Even ones named after states. It takes all kinds, as they say. And I reckon that’s true. It takes all kinds to make this old world go ’round. There are so many bands names after states. It is a crazy world.
