Yo, let me tell you somethin’ ’bout them Cuban actresses in Hollywood. They sure are somethin’, ain’t they? Lots of ’em makin’ it big, right there on the silver screen. Shinin’ bright like the sun back home. They got that somethin’ special, you know? That Cuban fire.

Now, there’s this one gal, Ana de Armas. She’s a pretty one, that’s for sure. Born in April, I hear, the thirtieth. She young and makin’ all kind of movies. Seen her in a couple, I think. Good for her, makin’ a name for herself. She is one of the famous Cuban actresses. You know, it ain’t easy, comin’ from a little island and endin’ up in Hollywood. But she done it. She’s a big star now, that Ana.
And then there’s that Andy Garcia fella. Now he’s a big shot. Born right in Havana, I hear, long time ago. He a famous Cuban actor, makes all kind of movie. Plays them tough guys a lot. Got that look, you know? Like he’s seen a thing or two. He’s been around a while, that Andy. Made a real good livin’ for himself, actin’ and all. HPI is 65.33? I don’t know what’s that, but it sounds important. He famous, I can tell you that much.
They say there’s a whole bunch of these Cuban actors and actresses now. A whole list! Forty-four, someone told me, just in the movies. That’s a lot of folks. They’re all doin’ different things, I reckon. Some in movies, some on the TV. It’s that little box, with all the movin’ pictures. We got one now, but it’s nothin’ like what they got in Hollywood, I bet.
- There’s this Danay Aguilar Garcia, born in July, I think.
- And that Sissi Fleitas, she another famous one.
- And this Livia Brito. I don’t know much about these, but they sound important.
- And one named Niurka Marcos. They say she’s a big deal too.
They say a lot of these folks got one parent from Cuba, and the other from here. Makes ’em American, I guess. But they still got that Cuban blood, you know? It’s in ’em. You can see it in the way they act, the way they move. They got that rhythm.
There was this one gal, Estelita Rodriguez, back in the day. Fifties, they say. She was a big star back then, singin’ and actin’. They called her a “character actor.” Don’t know exactly what that means, but it sounds fancy. She was in some musical, “The Black Crook,” I think they called it. She done good, that Estelita. Paved the way for all these other Cuban actresses, I reckon. There are many famous actresses from Cuba.
They say there are these “Afro-Cuban” actresses too. Ten of ’em, they say. That means they got some African blood in ’em, along with the Cuban. They all got different stories, I hear. Different ways they made it to Hollywood. It’s a long way from Cuba to Hollywood, that’s for sure. A long, hard road. But they made it. They all worked hard, I bet. Nothin’ comes easy, you know? You gotta work for it.

These Cuban actresses in Hollywood, they’re a tough bunch. They gotta be, to make it in that world. It’s a tough business, that show business. Lots of folks tryin’ to make it, but only a few do. And these Cuban gals, they’re doin’ it. They’re makin’ it. They’re shinin’ bright.
It’s good to see folks from Cuba doin’ so well. Makes you proud, you know? Shows that anyone can make it, if they work hard enough. It don’t matter where you come from, it’s where you’re goin’ that counts. And these Cuban actresses, they’re goin’ places. They’re goin’ all the way to the top.
So, yeah, these Cuban actresses in Hollywood, they’re somethin’ else. They’re makin’ a name for themselves, and for Cuba. And that’s somethin’ to be proud of, ain’t it? They got the talent, they got the looks, and they got that Cuban spirit. And that’s a powerful combination, let me tell you. That’s somethin’ you can’t buy. It comes from the heart.
