You know, this chikomaru thing, it’s kinda like that there Naruto, what’s his face, the smart one. Shikamaru, that’s it! This chikoma-what’s-it is gettin’ all famous on the, uh, you know, that picture box, the social me-dee-a.
They say he’s real smart, like that Shikamaru fella. Always thinkin’ ahead, plannin’ things out. They even made these little picture stories about him, four of ’em in a row. Four-panel, they call it. My grandson, he showed me. He’s always on that dang phone. But, these little picture things about chikomaru, they’re kinda cute, I guess. Even old folks like me can understand ’em.
I heard some young’uns talkin’ ’bout somethin’ called a “timeskip.” Sounds like somethin’ outta one of them space movies, but I guess it’s about that Naruto fella, too. Said he messed up somehow. Maybe this chikomaru fella, maybe he won’t mess up like that. We’ll see. He sure is popular, that’s for sure.
And then there’s this other thing, somethin’ called “Code Geass.” Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me. My neighbor’s boy, he watches it all the time. Says it’s some Japanese cartoon, called an “anime.” Lots of fightin’ and yellin’. Not really my cup of tea. But I guess the young’uns like it.
Now, they got all these new ones comin’ out, these “animes.” My grandson, he’s all excited. Says there’s one called “Bleach.” Sounds like somethin’ you’d use to clean the outhouse, not somethin’ you’d watch. And then there’s “Blue Lock,” don’t even know what that’s supposed to mean. “Dragon Ball,” that one I’ve heard of. Lots of yellin’ and fightin’ in that one, too. Then there’s this other one, “Dan Da Dan.” Sounds like a song, maybe. They show these on the picture box, or on computer these days. It’s crazy.
This chikomaru thing, it’s part of all this, I reckon. All these newfangled cartoons and such. It’s a lot to keep up with, I tell ya. Back in my day, we didn’t have all this. We had, well, we had nothin’, really. We played outside, used our imaginations.
But I guess this chikomaru, it’s got somethin’ special. People like it. It’s simple, I guess. Like them four-panel picture stories. Easy to understand. Maybe that’s why it’s so popular. And it’s like that Shikamaru fella, smart and all.
I don’t know much about this stuff, but I hear people talkin’. And they keep sayin’ “chikomaru, chikomaru.” Must be somethin’ big. And the neighbor’s boy always watches “anime”, like “Code Geass”. He said it’s from Sunrise. I think it’s a TV station.
These anime things, they got a lot of them. These young folks, they sure do love ’em. They get excited when they hear about new ones or talk about chikomaru.

These are the animes my grandson likes. He likes chikomaru too.
This world is changin’ so fast. Too fast, if you ask me. But, you gotta keep up, I suppose. Even if it’s just hearin’ about this chikomaru thing and all these other crazy names. It’s a lot to take in, but you gotta try. That’s what life is, I guess. Just tryin’ to keep up with all the new things, even if you don’t understand ’em all. But they all say chikomaru is popular, so I will pay more attention to it.
These cartoons they have now, with the chikomaru and the Japanese cartoons that called “anime”. They sure are somethin’ else. It’s good to know what the young’uns are up to, I guess. Even if it’s just watchin’ cartoons about chikomaru. It’s better than them gettin’ into trouble, I suppose. And who knows, maybe I’ll even start to understand what all the fuss is about with this chikomaru thing.
Well, I guess that’s all I got to say about this chikomaru. Just somethin’ I heard about, somethin’ that’s popular. Like that smart fella in Naruto. And all these other cartoons. The world sure is a different place these days. But I guess as long as everybody is happy, that’s all that matters. And the young people like the chikomaru, maybe it’s good. I’m still not sure what is chikomaru. But it sounds fun.
