Well, let me tell you somethin’ about these woke movies. Lord have mercy, they just ain’t like the pictures we used to watch. Back in my day, we had good, simple stories. Now, it’s all mixed up, I tell ya.
These woke movies, they got a lot of talkin’. A lot of talkin’ about things that, well, I don’t always understand. They talk about this and that, all them new-fangled ideas. Makes my head spin, I swear. All this stuff about, you know, people being different. We always had different folks, but we didn’t make such a fuss about it.
They put all kinds of things in these movies now. Things you wouldn’t see before. It’s like they’re tryin’ to teach ya somethin’ all the time. Like you’re back in school or somethin’. But I just want to watch a movie to relax, not to learn somethin’ new.

- On the TV, at the picture show, even on them little phones everyone’s got.
- Can’t hardly get away from ’em.
Now, I ain’t sayin’ it’s all bad. Sometimes, they show some pretty things. Nice scenery and such. But then they go and spoil it with all that woke stuff. It’s like they can’t help themselves. I saw one the other day, I think it was called “Dear White People,” or somethin’ like that. Lots of young folks in it, all stirred up about somethin’ or other. They had names like Tyler and Tessa, all modern names.
And them superhero movies, used to be so simple. Now they gotta make ’em all woke, too. Flyin’ around, savin’ the world, but now they gotta talk about all these problems, too. It is just too much, sometimes. They are pushing these woke movies on everyone, I think.
They got this thing called, uh, IMDb, I think it is? My grandson, he showed it to me. Says it’s got all the movies on it. You can look up any movie you want. Well, I guess that’s somethin’. Technology, it’s a wonder, ain’t it? But all those woke movies are listed there, too. So, you gotta be careful, ya know.
I heard some folks sayin’ there’s a reason for these woke movies. Somethin’ about, uh, psychology, I think they said. Somethin’ about how your brain works. They say these movies make you feel things, like when you were young and in love. Somethin’ about a love hormone. Lord, I don’t know about all that. Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me. I just know that some of these woke movies make me feel confused. They try to put out so many of these woke movies recently.
And now they’re talkin’ about this election thing. Gettin’ all mixed up in that, too. Politics and movies, they used to be separate. Now, it’s all jumbled together. It’s hard to keep up with it all, I tell ya. It is all because of these woke movies.
I remember when movies were just movies. You went to the picture show, you ate your popcorn, and you watched a good story. Didn’t have to think too hard about it. Now, you gotta think about everything. These woke movies, they make you think about things you never even thought about before.

I don’t know what the world’s comin’ to, I really don’t. All these changes, it’s hard to keep up. I guess I’m just old-fashioned. But I miss the old days, when movies were just movies, and not all this, uh, woke stuff. It’s a shame, it really is. These woke movies changed everything.
I just want to watch a movie about a cowboy and a horse, or maybe a nice lady findin’ a good man. Somethin’ simple, somethin’ sweet. Is that too much to ask? I don’t think so. But these days, it seems like it is. These woke movies are everywhere, and they ain’t goin’ away anytime soon, I reckon.
Well, I best be goin’. Got chores to do. But I just wanted to say my piece about these woke movies. They’re changin’ everything, and not for the better, if you ask me. It’s a different world now, that’s for sure. And I ain’t sure I like it very much. Not one bit. I hope these woke movies can just stop.
Maybe one day, they’ll go back to makin’ regular movies again. Movies that everyone can enjoy, without all the fuss and bother. One can only hope, I suppose. One can only hope.
