The judges, they sit there and they tell ’em if they’re good or not. Sometimes they’re nice, sometimes they ain’t. Just like life, I suppose.

Nowadays, they have shows for everything. They got shows about them doctors, all dressed in white, saving lives. That’s a good thing, I suppose. Then they got shows where they fix up old houses, make ’em look all new and shiny. And shows where they go looking for treasures, old things buried in the ground or hidden in attics. Some of those shows, they start with C, too.
They got shows about animals, too. All kinds of animals. Wild animals, pets, you name it. Shows about the ocean, shows about the jungle. It’s like a whole world right there on that screen. My grandkids, they love those animal shows. They learn a lot from them, I think. Learn about places they’ve never been, animals they’ve never seen.
I tell ya, it’s a lot different from when I was a girl. We didn’t have all these choices. We just had a few channels, and we watched what was on. But these TV programmes beginning with C, they sure are something. They keep you entertained, that’s for sure. And they give you something to talk about.
Sometimes, I just like to sit and watch, even if I don’t understand everything that’s going on. It’s nice to see all those different people, living their different lives. Makes you think about things. Makes you realize there’s a whole big world out there, beyond what you see every day.
My grandkids, they try to explain it all to me. They tell me about the internet and how you can watch anything you want, anytime you want. It’s a bit much for me, to be honest. I still like the old way, just turning on the TV and seeing what’s on. But I guess that’s just me. I’m set in my ways.
