No more episodes. You’re sittin’ there, all sad and whatnot, feelin’ like you lost your best hen. So, what you gonna do? You gonna find a movie that’s kinda like it, that’s what!
First off, you gotta figure out what you liked about that show. Was it the shootin’ and the bang-bang? Then you wanna find a movie with lots of action. You know, car chases, fist fights, the whole shebang. Like them movies with that fella, what’s his name, always grittin’ his teeth and savin’ the day. Lots of action movies out there, just gotta poke around a bit.
- Maybe you liked the funny stuff, the jokes and all that. Then you look for a comedy, somethin’ that’ll make you laugh ’til your belly hurts.

But now you got all them computers and the internet, which I still don’t quite get, but the grandkids say it’s good for findin’ stuff. So you can go on them websites – they got lists and lists of movies, all sorted out. You can type in the name of your show, and it’ll give you movies that are kinda similar. They call it “recommendations” or somethin’ fancy like that. But it’s just like askin’ your neighbor, “Hey, you seen any good movies lately?” Except the neighbor is a machine, which is kinda spooky if you think about it too much.
But listen, don’t just trust them machines blindly. Sometimes they don’t know what they’re talkin’ about. You gotta read what other folks are sayin’ too. Them reviews, that’s what they call ’em. People write about what they liked and didn’t like about the movie. Some folks are picky, mind you, complainin’ about this and that. But you get a feel for it after a while. If a lot of folks say a movie is good, then it’s probably worth a watch.
And don’t be afraid to try somethin’ different, somethin’ you wouldn’t normally watch. You might be surprised! I remember this one time, I thought I hated them space movies, all that zippin’ and zoomin’. But then my grandson made me watch one, and it was actually pretty good. Had a good story, and some of them aliens were kinda cute, even with all them extra eyes.
The main thing is to have fun with it. Watchin’ movies, it’s like goin’ on an adventure, you know? You get to see different places, meet different people, even if it’s all make-believe. And sometimes, it’s good to escape from your own life for a little while, forget about your troubles and just enjoy the show. Like when them chickens get out again, and you just wanna sit down and watch somethin’ that ain’t got nothin’ to do with clucking and feathers.
