Alright, alright, let’s talk about this Cosby Show, you know, the one with that Bill fella. Folks say it’s funny, real funny. So, we gonna jaw about the funniest episodes, the ones that make your belly jiggle.

Now, I ain’t no fancy TV critic or nothin’, but I know what makes me laugh. And that Cosby fella, he got some funny ways, that’s for sure. People say this show was a big deal, showing a black family all happy and normal-like on TV. Guess that was somethin’ back then, still is somethin’ now, I reckon.
One episode folks seem to like is called “The Real World” from the second season. Don’t rightly know what it’s about, but sounds like it’s got folks in stitches. Then there’s “The Juicer”, also from the second season. Maybe it’s about squeezin’ oranges or somethin’, who knows? But if it makes folks laugh, it can’t be all bad.
- Season 2 got some goodies: Like I said, “The Real World” and “The Juicer”, those seem to be crowd-pleasers. Maybe they was doin’ somethin’ right that year.
- Season 3 got snakes: Folks keep hollerin’ ’bout a “Snake” episode in season three. Snakes in the house? That sounds like a recipe for trouble, and maybe some laughs too. I ain’t too fond of snakes myself, but on TV, they might be alright.
Now, some folks say this show ain’t so funny anymore, not after all that trouble with that Bill Cosby. Says he did some bad things. Well, I ain’t here to judge, I’m here to talk about the funny parts, or what used to be funny parts, I guess. It’s a shame when things get messed up like that, makes it hard to enjoy the good times you had before.
They say this show wasn’t like them other shows with all the canned laughter. You know, those “ha ha ha” sounds they play even when ain’t nothin’ funny happenin’? This Cosby Show, it was supposed to be funny on its own, without all that fakery. That’s what they say, anyhow.
The show ran for eight seasons, that’s a long time. Musta been somethin’ special to keep folks watchin’ for that long. Plenty of time to get in all sorts of funny situations, that’s for sure. Families are like that, always somethin’ goofy goin’ on. Kids growin’ up, parents gettin’ old, it’s a whole mess of things, but sometimes, it’s a funny mess.
Folks used to watch this show every week, gather ’round the TV and laugh together. It was a family thing, you know? Now, you can watch it anytime you want, if you can find it. But it ain’t quite the same, is it? Things change, people change, and what used to be funny might not be so funny anymore.

This Cosby Show, it was on somethin’ called NBC, a big TV station, they say. Started way back in September, don’t rightly know the year, but it was a long time ago. Seems like yesterday and a hundred years ago all at the same time. Time does funny things to your head, makes you remember things all mixed up.
There was this girl on the show, Denise, folks liked her. But she up and left after the first season. Said she had other things she wanted to do, creative differences, they called it. Guess she had her own ideas about what was funny and what wasn’t. Can’t blame a girl for wantin’ to do her own thing, can ya?
So, what made this show so funny? Hard to say exactly. Maybe it was the way they talked, the way they acted, the way they just seemed like a real family, even though they was on TV. They say it showed folks that black families were just like any other family, with their ups and downs, their silly arguments and their big hugs.
And even though things went sour with that Bill Cosby, you can’t take away the fact that this show was a big deal. It changed things, made people think differently. And it made them laugh, at least for a while. And that’s somethin’ to be said for it, I reckon.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a laugh, maybe you wanna check out some of these old Cosby Show episodes. Just try to forget all the bad stuff and remember the good times, the funny times. “The Real World,” “The Juicer,” “The Snake” episode – those are the ones folks keep talkin’ ’bout. Maybe they’ll tickle your funny bone, maybe they won’t. But it’s worth a try, ain’t it?
It’s a shame that all the mess happened, but like I said, I’m just here to talk about the laughs, the giggles, the times folks howled at the TV. And from what I hear, there were plenty of those times on the Cosby Show.
