Well, let me tell ya, those eye-opening documentaries, they’re somethin’ else. I ain’t no scholar or nothin’, but I watch some of them things, and they just make ya think, you know?

Some folks, they like them action movies, all that bang-bang stuff. But me? I like somethin’ that makes my brain work a little. These documentaries, they show ya the world, the real world, not that fancy stuff they show on TV all the time.
I seen one the other day, about them animals. Lions and tigers and such. My, oh my, the things they go through just to eat and keep their babies safe. It ain’t all sunshine and roses for them critters, that’s for sure. Makes ya think about where your food comes from, you know? That steak on your plate, that chicken leg… Somethin’ had to die for that. And those animals out there, they’re just tryin’ to survive, same as us.
- Life’s tough all around.
- Makes ya grateful for what ya got.
Then there’s them documentaries about history. Now, I didn’t pay much attention in school, but these things, they make it all come alive. Wars and famines and people fightin’ for what they believe in. And it ain’t always pretty, let me tell ya. Folks doin’ terrible things to each other, all in the name of somethin’ or other. It makes you appreciate the peace we got now, even if it ain’t perfect.
But the ones that really get to me are the ones about people. Regular folks, just like you and me, goin’ through tough times. Folks losin’ their homes, folks fightin’ sickness, folks just tryin’ to make a better life for their kids. And some of them stories, they just break your heart. But they also show you how strong people can be, how they can keep goin’ even when things look impossible.
- People are stronger than they think.
- There’s always hope, even in the darkest times.
And then there’s them documentaries that show you what’s really goin’ on in the world. Them big companies, them politicians… They ain’t always tellin’ us the truth, you know? These documentaries, they dig deep, they ask the tough questions. And sometimes, what they find ain’t pretty. Makes you wonder who to trust, who’s really lookin’ out for us little folks.
I tell ya, watchin’ these documentaries, it’s like gettin’ a whole new education. You learn about things you never even knew existed. You see the world in a whole new way. And it ain’t always easy, some of them things are hard to watch. But I reckon it’s important, you know? We gotta know what’s goin’ on, we gotta open our eyes and see the truth, even if it’s ugly.

There was this one film, I can’t even remember the name now, old age is gettin’ to me, but it was about folks and how they act. Real complicated stuff, not the kind of thing you hear ’round the dinner table. But it sure made me think, how we believe things are one way, but it turns out they’re totally different.
And you don’t even have to be all fancy, I mean some of the most eye-opening ones ain’t even talked about much, just quiet little films that hit you hard. They tell ya stories, real stories, not that made-up stuff in Hollywood. And some of them stories are real close to home, about our own country, our own towns even. Makes ya think about your neighbors, the folks you see every day. Makes ya wonder what their stories are.
And let me tell ya, sometimes these documentaries, they don’t just tell you stuff, they show you how to be a better person. Or at least, they show you what’s goin’ on so you can figure things out for yourself. Because, at the end of the day, it’s up to each of us to make up our own minds about things. But ya gotta have the information first, right? Ya gotta know what’s out there. And that’s what these documentaries do. They give you the information, they show you the world, and they let you decide what to do with it. And that’s a powerful thing, ain’t it? To know, to understand, to be able to make your own choices.
So yeah, I recommend them eye-opening documentaries to anyone who wants to learn a little somethin’, who wants to see the world for what it really is. They ain’t always easy to watch, but they’re always worth it. They make you think, they make you feel, they make you a little bit wiser, I reckon. And that’s somethin’ we could all use a little more of these days.
