Howdy folks! Let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this fella, Yosemite Sam. He’s one of them Looney Tunes characters, ya know, like that rabbit Bugs Bunny. But Sam ain’t no sweet-talkin’ bunny. He’s a real firecracker, always yellin’ and stompin’ around. A real hothead, that one!
Now, Sam, he’s got a mouth on him, that’s for sure. He’s always shoutin’ things like, “Oooo ya long eared, fur bearin’ flat-footed varmint!” Can ya believe it? Talkin’ about varmints all the time. And he ain’t just sayin’ it quiet-like. He’s screamin’ it at the top of his lungs! He also likes to say, “Say yer prayers ya long eared galoot!” Sounds like he’s ready for a fight, don’t it? And sometimes he’ll ask, “Any one-a-you lily-livered, bow-legged varmints care to slap leather with me?” Slap leather? That means fightin’, ya know. He’s always lookin’ for a brawl, that Sam.
I heard tell that his name comes from a place called Yosemite National Park out in California. Fancy name, ain’t it? But Sam ain’t fancy at all. He’s more of a rough-and-tumble kinda guy. He dresses up like a cowboy, with a big ol’ hat and those shootin’ irons. Always got two guns, blazin’ away. He thinks he’s a tough outlaw, that’s for sure.

- Him and that Elmer Fudd fella, they’re always tryin’ to catch Bugs, but they never do. Silly fellas, if ya ask me.
Sam’s got a real bad temper. He gets mad at the drop of a hat. If somethin’ don’t go his way, he starts yellin’ and shootin’ and stompin’ his feet. He’s like a little kid throwin’ a tantrum, but with guns! One time, I heard he was sleepin’ through a house fire, and when he woke up, he yelled, “What in tarnation are you doin’ here?” Can ya imagine? Your house is burnin’ down, and you’re worried about what other folks are doin’? That’s Sam for ya.
He’s what they call a gunslinger. Means he’s good with guns. Always twirlin’ ’em around and shootin’ ’em off. But he ain’t a very good shot, if ya ask me. He’s always missin’ Bugs Bunny, even when that rabbit is standin’ right in front of him. Maybe he needs glasses, I don’t know. But he sure does make a lot of noise.
Some folks say he’s mean-spirited and aggressive. Well, I reckon they’re right. He’s always pickin’ fights and yellin’ at folks. He ain’t exactly what you’d call a friendly fella. But he’s kinda funny, too, in his own way. The way he gets all worked up and flustered, it’s hard not to laugh a little. Even if he is tryin’ to shoot somebody.
Yosemite Sam is a character, that’s for sure. A loud, angry, gun-totin’ character. He’s been around for a long time, and folks still love watchin’ him get all riled up. He’s one of them fellas you just can’t forget. Even if you wanted to, he’d probably just yell at ya till ya remembered him! So that’s the lowdown on Yosemite Sam. A real handful, but he sure does make things interesting. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about varmints and shootin’ has made me hungry.
