Alright, alright, lemme tell ya ’bout them 90’s TV couples, ya know, the ones on that there telly-vision box. Back in my day, we didn’t have all this fancy phone stuff, we just watched the TV. And oh boy, did we have some couples to watch!
First off, ya gotta talk ’bout Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. Them two, they was somethin’ else. Always makin’ us laugh, always bein’ all goofy and cute. Drew, she was like this giggly little thing, always blushin’ and whatnot. And Adam, he was always playin’ the fool, ya know, the shy guy who tries too hard. But together? They just clicked. Like peanut butter and jelly, or biscuits and gravy, somethin’ like that. They made us believe in love, even if it was just on the TV.
- They made us laugh
- They made us cry sometimes, but mostly laugh
- They were just good together, ya know?
Then there was them other folks, Ben Affleck and Matt… somethin’ or other, I can’t remember all these fancy names. They did that movie, Good Will Huntin’, or somethin’. That was a big deal back then. Everyone was talkin’ ’bout it. They wasn’t all giggly like Drew and Adam, they was more serious, ya know? But they was good too. They showed us that love ain’t always easy, that sometimes ya gotta work at it. And that’s important, ain’t it?
And then there’s all sorts of other couples, I can’t even keep track. There was this one show, I think it was called “Friends”. All them young folks runnin’ around New York City. They had all sorts of couples on that show, breakin’ up and makin’ up. I tell ya, it was hard to keep track of who was with who! But that’s how life is sometimes, ain’t it? Messy and complicated.
But ya know what? It wasn’t just about the romance, the kissin’ and huggin’. It was about the friendship too. Them couples, they was friends first, most of the time. And that’s important. Ya gotta have someone to laugh with, someone to cry with, someone to just sit on the porch with and watch the sun go down. That’s what real love is all about, ain’t it?
Now, I ain’t no expert on love, lord knows. I’ve had my share of ups and downs, just like everyone else. But I do know this: love is important. It’s what makes life worth livin’. And them 90’s TV couples, they showed us that, even if it was just on the TV. They showed us all different kinds of love, the funny kind, the serious kind, the messy kind. And that’s somethin’ special, ain’t it?
I remember watchin’ these shows with my kids, and sometimes even my grandkids. And we’d all laugh together, and sometimes we’d cry together. But mostly we’d just enjoy spendin’ time together, watchin’ them couples on TV. And that’s what matters most, ain’t it? Family, friends, and love. That’s all there is to it, really.

So, yeah, them 90’s TV couples, they was somethin’ special. They taught us a lot about love, about life, and about bein’ good to each other. And that’s somethin’ we could all use a little more of these days, ain’t it? Just a little bit more love and kindness. That’s all I’m sayin’.
Now, I’m gonna go make myself a cup of tea. All this talkin’ about love has made me tired. But it’s a good tired, ya know? The kind of tired ya get when ya been thinkin’ about good things and good people.
