Well, howdy there! You lookin’ for some shows like that Grimm, huh? That show with all them fairy tales and beasties? I tell you what, my old TV’s seen a thing or two, and I reckon I can point you in the right direction. Don’t you worry none, I ain’t gonna get all fancy with the words. We’ll keep it plain and simple, just like good ol’ country cookin’.
So, Grimm, that was a show about a fella, a cop I think, who could see all sorts of weird creatures that regular folks couldn’t. Monsters and such, right out of them storybooks my grandpappy used to read. It was kinda spooky, but also kinda fun, you know? Reminded me of them old wives’ tales we used to tell ’round the fire.
Now, if you liked that Grimm, you might like some other shows with that same kinda feel. You know, the ones with the monsters and the magic and all that jazz. I heard tell of a show called “Supernatural.” It’s about two brothers, and they go around huntin’ demons and ghosts and all sorts of ungodly things. Sounds right up your alley if you liked Grimm, I reckon. Them boys are always gettin’ into trouble, just like my nephew Billy when he was a young’un.
- “Supernatural,” that’s one. Two brothers, fightin’ bad things. Sounds excitin’, don’t it?
Then there’s this other one, “Sleepy Hollow.” Now, that one’s got a headless horseman! Can you believe it? A fella without a head, ridin’ around on a horse. It’s got witches and demons too. And it’s based on some old story, just like Grimm. My grandma used to tell me stories like that, scared the bejeebers outta me, but I loved ’em anyway.
Heard tell there’s a show called “Castle Rock,” too. That one’s supposed to be scary. Psychological horror, they call it. Don’t know much about that, but sounds like it might give you the shivers, just like Grimm used to. I ain’t one for too much scarin’, but some folks like it, I guess. To each their own, I always say.
And if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ a bit different, but still got that monster feel, there’s “Van Helsing.” That’s about a lady who fights vampires. Now, I ain’t never seen a vampire myself, but my cousin swore he saw one down by the creek one night. Said it had big teeth and glowing eyes. Scared him so bad he didn’t go fishin’ for a month! Anyway, this Van Helsing lady, she’s tough as nails. She don’t take no guff from nobody, not even them bloodsuckers.

There’s a whole bunch of other shows out there, too. Shows with witches and werewolves and all sorts of things that go bump in the night. Some are good, some are bad, just like everything else in life. You just gotta try ’em out and see what you like. Don’t be afraid to experiment a little. You might find somethin’ you love even more than Grimm.
And listen, don’t you go worryin’ too much about what other folks think. If you like a show, you like it. That’s all that matters. My neighbor, Mrs. Higgins, she only watches them soap operas, all that drama and carryin’ on. I can’t stand ’em myself, but she loves ’em, and that’s fine by me. You gotta watch what makes you happy, that’s what I say.
So, there you have it. A few shows like Grimm, just like you asked for. Now, I gotta go and feed my chickens. They’re gettin’ mighty restless, and I don’t want ’em peckin’ my head off. You enjoy your shows now, ya hear? And don’t forget to turn off the lights when you’re done. Savin’ electricity is important, you know. My old man used to say, “Waste not, want not.” And he was a smart fella, even if he did smell like fish most of the time.
Anyways, happy watchin’! And remember, if you see a monster, don’t you go messin’ with it. Just call someone who knows what they’re doin’. Like them fellas on Supernatural. They seem to handle them things pretty well.
