Alright, listen up, y’all. You wanna watch somethin’ like that 22 Jump Street movie? That one with them two fellas runnin’ around like fools, pretendin’ to be young again? Yeah, I know the one. My grandson, he likes them kinds of movies. Always laughin’ and gigglin’. So, you want somethin’ similar, huh? Okay, okay, I gotcha.
First off, you gotta know what you liked about that movie. Was it the funny stuff? The shootin’ and chasin’? Or maybe them two boys bein’ all silly? It matters, you see. ‘Cause there’s different movies for different folks.
If you liked the funny business, you gotta look for them “comedy” movies. You know, the ones where people fall down and make funny faces. There’s this one movie, I think it was called Bad Boys. Yeah, Bad Boys. Two cops, always yellin’ and shootin’, but also crackin’ jokes. Reminds me a bit of them Jump Street boys, always gettin’ into trouble.
Then there’s them movies about school. You know, like how them fellas in 22 Jump Street went back to college? There’s a whole bunch of movies about kids in school, doin’ dumb stuff and learnin’ lessons. Not exactly the same, but they got that same kinda feelin’, you know? Young people, actin’ a fool.
- 21 Jump Street – Well, if you liked 22 Jump Street, you gotta watch the first one, right? It’s the same fellas, same kinda jokes, just a different school.
- Bad Boys – Like I said, these two cops are always gettin’ into trouble, but they make you laugh while they doin’ it.
- CHIPS – This one’s about motorcycle cops. Lots of action and some funny stuff too. My nephew, he loves this one. Says it’s got them cool bikes and all.
And if you liked the action, the shootin’ and fightin’ and all that, well, there’s plenty of them movies around. Action movies, they call ’em. Lots of explosions and car chases. Not always funny, but they keep you on the edge of your seat. My husband, he likes them kinds of movies. Says they make him feel like a young man again. Though I tell him he’s too old for that nonsense.
You can find these movies on all them fancy things now. Netflix, Amazon, Apple TV, whatever them young folks use these days. I just stick to my old TV, but my grandkids, they always watchin’ stuff on their phones and computers. Crazy, I tell ya.
Now, if you wanna get really fancy, there’s these websites, see? They got lists and lists of movies. You can type in somethin’ like “movies like 22 Jump Street” and they’ll give you a whole bunch of suggestions. My grandson showed me once. Too complicated for me, but it works for him.
One thing I learned, though, is that everybody likes different things. What I think is funny, you might think is stupid. And what you like, I might fall asleep watchin’. So, you just gotta try a few different movies and see what you like. Don’t be afraid to turn somethin’ off if you ain’t enjoyin’ it. Life’s too short to watch bad movies, that’s what I always say.
And don’t forget, you can always ask your friends or family for recommendations. They might know somethin’ you ain’t thought of. Or just go to the store and pick somethin’ that looks interestin’. Sometimes, that’s the best way to find a good movie. Just like pickin’ a good watermelon, you know? You gotta thump it a few times and see what feels right.
