Okay, so, you wanna know about this Kentaro Iwaasa fella, huh? Alright, alright, lemme tell ya what I know. I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, just gonna tell it to ya straight, like it is.
So, this Kentaro, he’s a big shot over at some place called Shogakukan. Sounds fancy, right? Don’t ask me what it means, but it’s a big deal, I guess. He’s the, uh, “deputy editor-in-chief” of somethin’ called Gagaga Bunko. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? Basically, he’s the boss man’s helper, makin’ sure all them books and stuff get done right.
Now, what kinda books does he work on? Well, they mentioned one called “A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics.” Sounds like a bunch of crazy folks to me, but hey, what do I know? This Kentaro guy, he must be pretty smart, workin’ on all them fancy books and such. Probably makes a lot of money, too, that fella. Not like us, workin’ our fingers to the bone just to make ends meet.
Anyways, this Kentaro, he’s gonna be at somethin’ called Otakon 2024. Never heard of it myself, but they say it’s a big convention. You know, where a bunch of folks gather ’round to talk about…well, I ain’t exactly sure what they talk about. Cartoons, maybe? Or them funny lookin’ books from Japan? They call ’em “manga” or somethin’. Kids these days, always with their weird hobbies.

This Otakon thing, they announced it on Wednesday, apparently. And they got a whole bunch of people comin’, not just this Kentaro. But he’s one of the big names, I guess. They got folks who talk about manga, folks who make them cartoons…it’s a whole shebang. I tell ya, these city folks got too much time on their hands, if you ask me. But hey, whatever floats their boat, right?
So, Varun Gupta and Sakaki, these folks from somethin’ called Manga Mavericks and Weekly Shougakukan Edition, they got to talk to the folks who made that “Salad Bowl” cartoon. And I guess this Kentaro was probably there too, bein’ all important and whatnot. He’s the deputy editor-in-chief, remember? Big shot. He’s probably the one makin’ sure them cartoons and books don’t go off the rails.
They announced all this in Washington, D.C. That’s where the big bosses hang out, ya know? Where all them politicians and fancy folks do their business. This Kentaro, he’s probably used to all that, flyin’ around, meetin’ important people. Not like us, stuck here in the sticks, never seein’ nothin’ but the same ol’ faces.
