Now, let me tell ya a story ’bout this boy named Unoki. Poor fella, he’s been gettin’ picked on since he was a little kid, back from them elementary school days, all the way up through middle school. I tell ya, he just can’t catch a break! And now he’s in high school, thinkin’ maybe things might change, but nope! Them bullies keep after him, like bees to honey.

Now here’s the twist, ya see, this new high school he’s gone to, well, it’s got this girl, right? And she ain’t just any girl. Naw, she’s somethin’ fierce! Folks around the school say she’s the baddest one there. Tough as nails, they say, always struttin’ ’round like she owns the place, and ain’t nobody crossin’ her path unless they got a wish for trouble.
This girl, well, she’s got a name too, don’t ya know, and it’s Toramaru. Now that’s a name, right? Sounds strong, just like she is! All the kids in school look up to her or fear her—one or the other, dependin’ on how brave they feel that day. Toramaru, she don’t go around pickin’ fights with just anyone, mind ya, but everyone knows she don’t let nobody mess with her.
So poor Unoki, he’s tryin’ to stay under the radar, like he’s done his whole life. But one day, he ends up crossin’ paths with Toramaru. Now, can ya believe it, the queen of all troublemakers takes a likin’ to him! She goes up to him, and from that day on, things get real interestin’. Toramaru, the top troublemaker, she decides that Unoki is now her… uh, well, kinda like her helper. But Unoki, bless his heart, he’s all confused! He’s thinkin’ he’s her errand boy, but in her mind, well, she thinks he’s belongin’ to her!
So now what’s Unoki supposed to do? Ya gotta understand, this fella ain’t exactly strong-willed. He’s used to doin’ what he’s told, all quiet-like, and now he’s got this fierce girl followin’ him around, barkin’ orders, makin’ him carry her bag, fetchin’ her snacks, and who knows what else! And he thinks she’s just makin’ him work, but anyone with half an eye can see she’s actually fond of him, in her own wild, rough way.
Now don’t get it twisted, though—Toramaru, she’s not just bein’ nice. Naw, she’s still rough ’round the edges. She’s bossin’ him ’round, like usual, and Unoki’s thinkin’, “Here we go again, just like back in elementary and middle school.” But, truth be told, he’s a bit confused too, ’cause she ain’t pickin’ on him mean-like. Nope, she’s lookin’ out for him, makin’ sure none of the other bullies dare touch him.
- She’s takin’ him under her wing, ya could say.
- She’s keepin’ him safe, in her own wild way.
- She’s makin’ sure that he’s hers, and no one else’s.
Ya see, this Toramaru gal, she’s somethin’ else. When Unoki looks a little lost or down, she don’t let him stay that way. She bosses him around, but if someone else dares to look at him the wrong way, well, let’s just say she don’t take kindly to that. She’s like a mama bear protectin’ her cub, even though poor Unoki don’t see it that way. He thinks she’s just another bully, but, oh, how wrong he is!

And so, high school goes on, with Unoki taggin’ along after the baddest girl in school. And little by little, he’s startin’ to feel a bit different. Maybe it ain’t so bad to have someone lookin’ out for ya, even if she’s rough as a corncob and tougher than old leather boots. Unoki might be belongin’ to the baddest girl at school, but maybe, just maybe, he don’t mind that as much as he thinks.
Who knows where this’ll all lead? Maybe by the end, Unoki’ll finally understand that sometimes, havin’ someone fierce in yer corner ain’t a bad thing. And Toramaru, well, maybe she’ll learn a thing or two ’bout bein’ a little gentler. But either way, this is their story, plain and simple, rough ’round the edges, just like life sometimes is.
